Banyan Tree

This is a painting of a banyan tree, done with a mix of acrylics and oil pastels (my media of choice, as of late). It was inspired after a trip to my wife's home city of Baroda (or Vadodara), in the state of Gujarat, India. The city's name is derivative of an ancient Sanskrit word meaning "in the heart of the banyan tree".

I also updated the Gallery, hopefully correcting some bugs that prevented it from displaying properly in some browsers.

This is a recent painting that I did. I just uploaded it to Deviant Art this afternoon. It was my first submission there (hopefully not my last). I have a feeling that I will be using this blog as a way of introducing new images to my gallery, complete with the proper description.

For this painting, I used my Weimaraner, Gin, as a reference. I used acrylics and oil pastels, the latter being a new experience for me. I kind of dig it. Hope you do to.

Here is a comic that has been floating in my head for somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 years now. I only recently sketched it out. Sometimes things are funnier in your head. End blog.
